Coletta Betancourt is an artist working in Philadelphia. She graduated with a bachelor in fine arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2012 where she spent most of her time focusing on drawing from nature. Coletta's artwork focuses on the beauty in nature and emphasizes the pattern, repetition, and sensual forms that she observes in the subject.
Since moving home to Philadelphia, Coletta has spent many years continuing her work through ceramic sculptures. Renting studios in both The Clay Studio and Black Hound Clay Studio, she has been honored to meet and be inspired by communities of clay artists in this great city. Since the pandemic, working from home is the new direction, and this artist has been shifting towards more contained mediums (printmaking, jewelry, drawing, painting).
